Stalking People

These past two days were pretty good. :D Had Thanksgiving with the family in San Francisco...beautiful Spanish and 60's songs were played and tons of turkey was eaten. I even had a glass of champagne, but I don't care for wine too much haha. Didn't go Black Friday shopping because I had drama practice in the morning. I did go with Tiffany to Tanforan later in the day, though, but the lines were still HUGE! Musta been some good sales to stand in line for an hour or two, yea? And my foot/toes are still swollen and bruised but whatever, I'm still walking. Later on in the day, I stalked two seventh graders today via Facebook. 1) My fake cousin's boyfriend (which she's had since May and I did not know about!) They're both seventh graders except he repeated first grade (in Korea?) so he's probably going to be 14 soon. I looked at his profile. He seems WEIRD. 2) My boyfriend's sister, LOL. She's nice, I guess, and I'm getting to know her better. Haha, I love this girl.

Chemistry-wise...
I believe we have a test soon. Luckily, Lewis Dot structures are pretty simple once you understand them. Molecules also come in certain geometrical shapes. There's the linear, bent, trigonal planar, trigonal pyramid, and tetrahedron. They are formed when electrons try to maximize their distance from each other.

Molecular Geometry
^ Ahh, how useful to review off of.
Chemistry Resources
^ MUST STUDY FOR THIS TEST!
Gotta keep my good grade.

Smells Lab

...and molecule webpage.
I chose the molecule Urea.
I am now wary of beauty products that use urea in their ingredients.
Click here to visit my webpage!

I somehow injured my foot...and was forced to run the mile and now it really hurts so I am wearing some compression thing on it. Yet I still walk slow. I could walk fast, I guess, but the pain hurts a lot. Whatever. I'll keep walking it out.

On Tuesday, we conducted the Smells Lab. My group was totally off in the classification of the smells. But seriously, none of the smells was "fishy", and the substance that smelled like sharpies was classified as "sweet". None of the substances were particularily "putrid-smelling" except the butyric acid, which smelled like poop. The scent was so strong and rancid that our chemistry teacher had to bring the substance outside to test. x_X;;

You Light Up My Life

Recently, we have been working with the electromagnetic spectrum. We did an experiment in class with the spectrometer. We then graphed the data. I'm glad we did a pie chart of all the colors of the visible spectrum, which is RADIOWAVES, MICROWAVES, INFRARED, RED, ORANGE, YELLOW, GREEN, BLUE, INDIGO, VIOLET, ULTRAVIOLET, X-RAYS, GAMMA RAYS... We also learned how to name type I and type II binary ionic compounds, such as Iron (II) Fluoride which FeF2.

On Tuesday, we conducted a lab to see which compounds would conduct and which would not. The substances that conducted electricity were metals, and were bonded ionic-ly. Substances with covalent bonds did not conduct electricity, specifically wax and sugar. We also tested to see if the substances would dissolve in water. Most of my predictions were correct, but not perfect.

Emily has visited 7th period. I plan to visit her in first period one day. :D
